چکیده
Steam methane reforming with CO2 capture (blue hydrogen) and water electrolysis based on renewable electricity (green are commonly assumed to be the main supply options in a future hydrogen economy. However, another promising method is emerging form of natural gas pyrolysis (turquoise pure carbon as valuable by-product. To better understand potential turquoise hydrogen, this study presents techno-economic assessment molten salt process. Results show that moderate reactor pressures around 12 bar optimal, size must limited by accepting performance well below thermodynamic equilibrium. Despite challenge stemming from slow reaction rates, simplicity process delivers high efficiencies economics. In long-term, could produced for 200–300 €/ton, granting access high-volume markets metallurgical chemical industries. Such scenario makes alternative blue regions public resistance transport storage. medium-term, expensive first-of-a-kind plants produce 400 €/ton if prices set conventional production. Pure at cost level can smaller high-value such anodes graphite, ensuring profitable operation even first movers. conclusion, economic further demonstration scale-up efforts strongly recommended.

TYPES OF MELTS From the practical viewpoint, melts may be classified according to melting points which may limit the available techniques. The lowest melting, with working temperatures up to 250°, are typified by the LiNO3—NaNO3— KNO3 eutectic, NaNO3—KNO3 eutectic, LiClO4, and ammonium formate. With these solvents it is possible to use the dropping mercury electrode, or hanging mercury drop ele...

An approach for techno-economic optimisation and for the analysis of industrial biomass use is proposed in this paper. The ARGUS model (German acronym for: allocation module for a computer-aided generation of environmental strategies for emissions), based on linear programming, has been implemented as one of the few models that investigates VOC emissions from approximately 40 industrial sectors...
متن کاملTechno-economic evaluation of helium recovery from natural gas; A comparison between inorganic and polymeric membrane technology
Natural gas produced at high pressure (50-70 bar) is the only industrial source of helium (He). A membrane separation process may offer a more efficient production system with smaller footprint and lower operational cost than conventional cryogenic system. Inorganic membranes with high mechanical strength are known to exhibit good stability at high pressure. In this work, two inorganic membrane...

A techno-economic sensitivity analysis of the production of synthetic natural gas (SNG) via catalytic supercritical water gasification (SCWG) of microalgae produced in raceway ponds (RP), tubular-, or flat-panel-airlift photobioreactors (FPA-PBR) has been perfomed. The aim of combining microalgae production with SCWG is to close material flows with respect to water and nutrients, the so called ...
